global rickshaw was founded in 2006 as an independent production house.  Rickshaws are three-wheeled taxis that travel on highways and village roads.  Flashy or rusted out, fare at driver discretion, sometimes we ride solo, but often, we share with strangers.  After several years based in Mumbai, global rickshaw now continues from the U.S.

Aparna Wilder has visited NGOs all over India and feels privileged to have learned about development from various perspectives.  Aparna lived and worked in India for six years and now resides in Brooklyn, NY.  She believes film is a powerful medium to share stories of social change and personal reflection.

Sachi Maniar puts every inch of her body and mind into all that she takes on. She knows how to bring people together, encourage children to talk openly to camera, and hustle on and off the set. Bottom line: she gets it all done. Sachi believes that film is a powerful visual medium that can bring people together who would otherwise never have the opportunity to learn from each other.  Sachi lives in Mumbai and although she loves rickshaws, she has a special affection for her two wheeler.

Jitendra Kalwani is one of the fastest editors known to mankind.  Jiten has worked on countless ad films, documentaries, and promo films for several Bollywood features.  He is a senior editor at Pixion Studio in Mumbai, and always manages to make time for global rickshaw projects.  Jiten believes that film can entertain at scale.
